Formula
Cumulative GPA = total quality points ÷ total creditsEach semester updates your running total of quality points and credits. Your cumulative GPA is always the sum of all quality points divided by the sum of all credits, so every course you take is reflected proportionally.
Examples
Semester 1: 30 credits at 3.0 → Semester 2: 15 credits at 3.6
Total QP = 90 + 54 = 144 ÷ 45 credits.

About
The GPA Progress Tracker shows how your grade point average changes semester by semester. Enter your starting cumulative GPA and credits, then add each new term as it finishes. The calculator maintains a running total of quality points and credits so your cumulative GPA always reflects all completed coursework. This is a practical tool for students who want to watch their standing improve over time, monitor progress toward a graduation GPA requirement, or simply keep an accurate record without spreading calculations across spreadsheets.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between tracking and one-time GPA?
A single GPA calculator gives one snapshot. The progress tracker builds a running history as you add semesters, showing how your GPA has evolved.
Why does my cumulative GPA update slowly?
Because each new semester is spread across all your prior credits. The more credits you have, the smaller the effect of any single term.
