SGPA to CGPA Conversion Calculator

Convert semester GPA (SGPA) to cumulative CGPA with credit weighting.

Add semesters — SGPA + credits → CGPA (credit-weighted).

CGPA

/ 10 or 4.0

CGPA = Σ(SGPA×credits)/Σcredits

How to use

  1. 1Enter the SGPA and total credits for each semester you have completed.
  2. 2Add semesters in order, from first to most recent.
  3. 3See your cumulative CGPA, which weights each semester by its credit total rather than simply averaging them.

Formula

CGPA = Σ (SGPA × semester credits) / Σ semester credits

Each semester's SGPA is multiplied by its credit load, summed across all semesters, and divided by total credits. This is the credit-weighted cumulative average used by many universities, particularly in India and South Asia.

Examples

Sem 1: SGPA 8.0 (24cr), Sem 2: SGPA 8.5 (24cr)

CGPA = (192 + 204) ÷ 48.

CGPA 8.25

About

The SGPA to CGPA Calculator converts your semester grade point averages into a cumulative CGPA. Enter the SGPA and total credits for each completed semester, and the calculator applies the credit-weighted formula used by universities that report grades on both scales. Because it weights each semester by its credit load, the resulting CGPA is accurate even when credit totals vary between terms. Students commonly use this tool to prepare transcripts for graduate applications, verify university-reported CGPA values, and track their standing across the entire program.

Is averaging my SGPAs the same as CGPA?
